NRCS Conservation Bulldozing: Habitat Restoration in Marshfield, WI

ERE Excavation | 233119 Co Rd F, Abbotsford, WI 54405 | (715) 613-0011

The Challenge

A property in Marshfield had land that had become unusable — uneven piles left from previous work, and waterways that had lost their proper shape and function. As part of a conservation effort coordinated with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the goal was to turn this land into ground that could actually support natural habitat restoration and seeding.

Our Approach

Working within the NRCS conservation framework, we leveled the existing piles so the ground could be properly seeded, and reshaped the waterways running through the property to restore natural water flow. This wasn't standard grading — conservation-focused bulldozing has to account for habitat and water flow considerations that a typical commercial or residential grading job doesn't.

The Result

Land that had been unusable — both practically and ecologically — was made seed-ready, with waterways reshaped to support the habitat restoration goals of the project. This is the kind of larger-scope environmental and conservation work we're equipped to take on alongside standard excavation and grading.

Common Questions

  • Do you work directly with conservation agencies like the NRCS?

Yes — this Marshfield project was completed in partnership with the NRCS as part of a habitat restoration and conservation effort.

  • Is conservation-focused grading different from standard site grading?

Yes — it accounts for habitat, seeding readiness, and natural water flow in ways that standard building-site or yard grading doesn't need to consider.
